Terms of Use
Last Updated: September 20, 2026
We want Outstanding Today to be somewhere you can keep track of what matters to you. These Terms explain the rules that apply when you use it, and we have tried to keep them clear, fair and readable.
These Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and Outstanding Today. Please read them carefully. By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, using the website, following an invite link, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using Outstanding Today, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.
1. Who We Are and What These Terms Cover
Outstanding Today is a task manager available at https://outstanding.today, https://app.outstanding.today, related subdomains, and as applications for Android and iPhone.
In these Terms:
- "Outstanding Today," "we," "us," and "our" mean Outstanding Today.
- "you" and "user" mean the person using the Services.
- "Services" means the Outstanding Today website, web application, mobile applications, features, software and related services.
- "Your Content" means the epics, goals, work items, titles, descriptions, labels, locations, due dates, reminder times, settings and other material you create or submit through the Services.
- "Free" and "Pro" mean the two plans described in Section 6.
These Terms incorporate the Outstanding Today Privacy Policy at https://outstanding.today/privacy. Additional terms may apply to specific plans, purchases made through an application store, or beta features. If a separate written agreement says that it overrides these Terms, that document controls for the conflict.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will try to notify you by email, by a notice in the Services, or by a prominent notice on the website. Your continued use of the Services after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
The Services are not directed to children. You may not use the Services if you are under 16 years old.
You need an account to use the Services. Accounts are created by signing in with Google. We do not offer password-based accounts, and we do not receive your Google password.
You agree to keep your Google account secure, and you are responsible for activity under your Outstanding Today account. If you believe your account has been compromised, secure your Google account and notify us promptly.
You may not create accounts using false identities, evade suspension, resell access, or create accounts on behalf of another person without their authority.
3. Access to the Services
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable right to access and use the Services for your own personal and professional task management.
The Services are provided for organising your own work. Your deadlines, commitments, deliverables, client obligations and the decisions you make about them remain yours. A reminder that does not arrive, a device that is switched off, and a notification permission you declined are not substitutes for your own judgement, and you use the Services for that work at your own risk.
You may not copy, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, host, or otherwise make the Services available to third parties.
As the product develops, we may change, suspend, discontinue, limit or remove features at any time. Where a change is significant we will try to give notice and avoid surprising you, but we do not guarantee that any feature will remain available indefinitely.
4. Product Status and Availability
Outstanding Today is a new product and may include beta, preview or early-access features. Those features may be incomplete, unstable, unsupported or changed without notice.
We work to keep the Services reliable and to treat Your Content with care. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a specific uptime, a response time or a support level unless we separately agree in writing. The Services may be unavailable because of maintenance, infrastructure failures, issues at a third-party provider, security incidents, legal requirements or product changes.
5. Your Content and Ownership
You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.
You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Services to you, and to comply with law. This licence exists so that we can run the Services; it ends when you delete Your Content or your account, subject to the retention described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the rights necessary to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
We do not read Your Content except where necessary to provide the Services, to respond to a request you make, to investigate a suspected breach of these Terms, or to comply with law. We do not use Your Content to train machine learning models.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We are not a backup service.
6. Plans, Limits, Invitations and Billing
Free. The Free plan allows ten active goals at one time. Work items, epics, and goals that are paused or completed are unlimited. There are no advertisements.
Invitations. Each account created from your invite link raises the number of active goals your account may hold by one, up to a total of fifteen. Beyond fifteen, a Pro subscription is required. Only accounts created from your link count, and each account can be recorded as invited once.
You may not obtain additional goals by creating accounts you control, by paying people to create accounts, by using automated means to create accounts, or by any other artificial means. We may remove invitation credit obtained this way, and may suspend accounts that do it repeatedly.
At the limit. When you reach your limit, creating a new goal or making a paused goal active is refused with a message explaining why. Nothing is hidden, deleted or deactivated. If your limit falls below the number of goals you already hold, you keep all of them and simply cannot add another until you are under the limit. Pausing or completing a goal is always allowed and is how you get back under it.
Pro. Pro costs 10 United States dollars per year and removes the active goal limit. One Pro subscription covers the same Google account on every platform.
Purchases. On Android and iPhone, subscriptions are purchased through Google Play and the Apple App Store respectively, and are subject to those stores' terms. Those stores handle payment, and cancellation and refunds are managed in your store account according to their policies. Where we offer payment on the web, the payment provider's terms apply to the transaction.
At the date above, no payment provider is connected and Pro cannot be purchased. The controls in the application say so rather than pretending otherwise.
Changes to prices and limits. We may change prices, plan limits and what invitations are worth. We will give notice of a change that affects a subscription you already hold, and the change will take effect at your next renewal.
7. Reminders and Notifications
A work item with a due date may carry a reminder time. Reminders are scheduled by your device's own notification system, which means they work without a network and do not depend on a messaging service we operate.
It also means they depend on your device. A reminder may not arrive if you decline or revoke the notification permission, if the device is switched off, if the operating system limits background activity, if the application is uninstalled, or if the device's time or timezone changes. Do not rely on a reminder for anything where missing it would cause harm.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Use the Services to store or transmit material that is unlawful, infringing, or that you have no right to hold.
- Attempt to access another user's account or content, or to circumvent the security rules that separate accounts.
- Attempt to grant yourself a plan, a goal limit, or invitation credit that you have not obtained legitimately, or to alter or delete another account's invitation records.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, or interfere with their operation, except as permitted in writing by us.
- Use automated means to create accounts, or to access the Services at a volume that degrades them for others.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Services, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notice in the Services.
9. Third-Party Services
The Services depend on Google Firebase for authentication and storage, and are distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability is outside our control.
10. Our Intellectual Property
The Services, including their software, design, text, graphics and marks, are owned by Outstanding Today or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you no rights in them other than the limited right to use the Services described in Section 3. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation or compensation to you.
11. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy at https://outstanding.today/privacy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time, and you may delete your account from the account section of settings. Deleting your account removes your records and then the account itself.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, if your use presents a risk to the Services or to other users, or if we discontinue the Services. Where practical and lawful we will give notice and an opportunity to export or correct the position.
If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any subscription you have paid us directly. Subscriptions purchased through an application store are refunded according to that store's policy.
Sections 5, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 survive termination.
13. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that any reminder will be delivered, that Your Content will not be lost, or that defects will be corrected.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outstanding Today will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost opportunity, lost goodwill, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility.
We will not be liable for any missed deadline, commitment, appointment or obligation, whether or not a reminder was set and whether or not it was delivered.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty United States dollars.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Outstanding Today from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of Your Content, your use of the Services, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your place of residence or to rely on mandatory local consumer protections, nothing in this section removes that right.
17. General Terms
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services, and replace any earlier agreement on the same subject.
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable provision is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
No waiver. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by something beyond its reasonable control.
Contact. Questions about these Terms may be sent to legal@outstanding.today.
